Hydrangea Petal Cake

This towering cake is five tiers tall and adorned with handmade sugar hydrangea petals in many shades of rust, eggplant, green and rose. The icing is White Chocolate Swiss Meringue Buttercream, which is a beautiful soft ivory background for the petals. Some of the petals have a matte finish, and others are lightly brushed with pearl effects, so the lighting in the room catches the contrast and has a lovely effect. The cascading petals on this cake evoke both nature and elegance at the same time. This wedding reception was held at Grandfather Golf and Country Club in Linville, NC.
