About Christina
Growing up in New York, Christina began cooking at an early age, surrounded by a family of passionate cooks and bakers. She began working in restaurants as a teenager, and continued her culinary education at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Following graduation, she worked as Head Pastry Chef of a Relais & Chateaux inn and restaurant. After deciding to focus on cake and sugar art, she began making wedding cakes in 2001. She went on to win both the National Gingerbread House Competition at the Grove Park Inn in 2004, and Food Network’s first Gingerbread House Challenge in 2005. Her book, How to Build a Gingerbread House, was published in 2008. Christina Banner Cakes is located in Newland, North Carolina. Her cakes have been delivered to beautiful weddings and events near and far.

Consultation & Tasting
The Cake Tasting is one of the sweetest experiences of planning your special event! Christina looks forward to working together with you to create a design that is uniquely yours, and tells your story. Much time is spent on each individual client’s design process and sugar details. As a result, the studio takes on a limited number of cakes each year. Once you have selected a date for your event, please contact us to begin the process. Wedding cake prices begin at $10 per serving. There is a $500 minimum order, plus delivery. Cake consultations and tastings are by appointment only, and there is a $50 tasting fee, which will be applied to your order should you choose to book with us. At least three days notice is required if you need to reschedule your appointment, as cake samples are made fresh and are customized to you and your event.
